We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Abruzzo, the countryside is beautiful! Piera and Leonardo were wonderful guides, we would not have been able to do this trip on our own. They picked us up in Rome and drove us to L'Aquila, Castelvecchio and Calascio, stopping at cemeteries and where ever we wanted to go. They were most accomodating to our needs. We enjoyed eating at the local restaurants and learning about the customs of the area.
One of the most exciting things of our entire trip to Italy was meeting a relative in Castelvecchio that we didn't know lived there. Piera was able to translate what she said in Italian for us and we learned some additional family history and we got to see the Cervellone home. Piera did genealogy work for us prior to the trip and that saved us a lot time since we only had two days in Abruzzo. Another highlight of our two days was climbing up to the fortress at Rocca Calascio and eating at Rifugio Della Rocca, the view was amazing.
We would love to come back again someday and spend more time in Abruzzo. Thank you for a wonderful trip and for your services. We would recommend Abruzzo Tours to others visiting this area.
