On behalf of my entire family we would like to personally thank you/Abruzzo Tours for the "time of a lifetime" . Abruzzo Tours was recommended by my aunt, Diane Matarelli Mitchell, see her testimonial of 2007. My grandfather's parents were married in Calascio and grew up there in the early 1900s. To see the old and new portions of the town, as well as their relatives tombstones, and tombstones of several other families which settled in central Illinois, USA was truly an amazing event.
Rocca Calascio was amazing, the restaurant and wine experience at the base of the castle was amazing also. Walking around the base of the village below the castle as well as around the castle at the top was great. My daughters 10 and 12 had no trouble with the hiking. Santo Stefano (the church), although it was closed due to the recent earthquake, the town was very quaint.
We hope to get the rest of our family to take the same tour.
